Waikerie Riverfront Camping

 

  • Facilities are not provided but camping is FREE.
  • Please take all rubbish with you when you leave and be environmentally friendly.
  • Please adhere to campfire regulations and do not chop down any trees, dead or alive, for firewood
  • Please bring your own fire wood
  • Please bury all toilet wastes completely with a shovel, do not leave anything exposed
  • Motor Bikes and Buggies not allowed in any of these camping areas

 

Lowbank

From the Waikerie Visitor Information Centre proceed to the Roundabout and take the fourth exit onto Crush Terrace. Continue on this road for roughly 100m and turn RIGHT onto Ian Oliver Drive.
Continue on this road for roughly 2kms and turn LEFT onto the Sturt Highway.
Travel roughly 5.1kms along the Sturt Highway and turn LEFT onto Lowbank Road which is a dirt road and continues to the river.
Boats can be launched from here, quiet camping area, dogs allowed.

Holder Bend

From the Waikerie Visitor Information Centre proceed to the Roundabout and take the fourth exit onto Crush Terrace. Continue on this road for roughly 100m and turn RIGHT onto Ian Oliver Drive.
Continue on this road for roughly 2km and turn LEFT onto the Sturt Highway.
Travel roughly 1kms along the Sturt Highway and turn LEFT at the crossroads onto Holder Top Road (near the Gliding Club)
Continue for 1.3kms and turn LEFT onto Holder Bottom Road.
After travelling a short distance you will see a sign for Gravel Road then Holder Bend Reserve.
Turn LEFT onto dirt track which leads to River frontage.
Camping area, some shaded areas, refuse bin, boat ramp, dogs allowed, 7 day camping limit.

Maize Island

From the Waikerie Visitor Information Centre proceed to the Roundabout and take the fourth exit onto Crush Terrace. Continue on this road for roughly 100m and turn RIGHT onto Ian Oliver Drive.
Continue on this road for roughly 2km and turn LEFT onto the Sturt Highway.
Travel roughly 1km along the Sturt Highway and turn LEFT at the crossroads onto Holder Top Road (near the Gliding Club).
Continue on this road for roughly 5kms and just before the road turns sharply to the left, slow down and turn RIGHT immediately next to the narrow row of Palm trees, just before the sharp left bend onto a narrow dirt track.
Follow this track and turn LEFT when you reach the river bank.
Camping/Fishing areas, boats can be launched by the bridge, refuse bins, dogs not allowed.

Ramco Point

From the Waikerie Visitor Information Centre proceed to the Roundabout and take the third exit onto McCoy Street.
Continue to the bottom Roundabout and take the second exit onto Peake Terrace.
Continue on this road roughly 5.5kms through Ramco.
Turn RIGHT just past the Ramco Primary School, the turnoff is signposted as Ramco Point.
Continue for roughly 3kms on this road which becomes a dirt road towards the river.
Apex Park available for picnics and has toilet facilities, shelter, refuse bin, campsites, boat ramp, dogs allowed.
No camping on the grassed area.

Hogwash

 From the Waikerie Visitor Information Centre proceed to the Roundabout and take the third exit onto McCoy Street.
Continue to the bottom Roundabout and take the second exit onto Peake Terrace.
Continue on this road roughly 16.8kms through Ramco.
Turn RIGHT onto Hogwash Road (this road is also the entrance to Caudo Vineyard Cellar Door).
Continue on this road for roughly 2.5kms (past Caudo Vineyard entrance) until you reach the river camping sites, walking trails, boat ramp, sandbar and refuse bin.
 

RV Facilities Waikerie

Waikerie welcomes all self-contained RV travellers.

Daytime parking:
Daytime parking is provided in Civic Avenue. Shopping facilities are nearby and public toilets are located in Crush Terrace and at the Waikerie riferfront.

Dump point:
RV public dump point and potable water is provided at RV parking site on Civic Avenue.

Overnight facilities:
Overnight and longer term RV parking for fully self contained vehicles is available at the Waikerie Caravan Park for $28 per night, including power.
